Sauteed Peppers and Onions
Slow-sauteed bell peppers and onions with smoky chipotle seasoning — versatile enough for tacos, sandwiches, burgers, or eggs.
Ingredients
- 2 tsp Smokin' Chipotle (or any blend)
- 3-4 bell peppers, seeded and sliced ¼" thick
- 1 large red onion, halved and sliced ¼" thick
- 4-5 Tbsp olive oil
Directions
- Seed and slice peppers lengthwise into ¼" strips. Halve and slice the onion ¼" thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
- Add seasoning and let it bloom for 30 seconds.
- Add peppers and onions, toss to coat evenly.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and saute 20-25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately, or cool and store in a sealed container for up to a week.
Tips
- Pulse cooled peppers and onions in a food processor with olive oil and lemon for a quick pepper spread.
Tip: This recipe features Smokin' Chipotle, but feel free to experiment with any of our 8 seasoning blends for your own twist.
